Mega Millions Expected To Reach $627M On Friday

The one-time cash payout, before taxes, should be more than $309 million, according to lottery officials.

PROVIDENCE, RI — The Mega Millions jackpot is continuing to climb since there has not been a winner since early June, according to lottery officials.

Friday’s jackpot is estimated to be $627 million, with a one-time cash payout, before taxes, of $309.1 million. Officials said it would be the ninth-largest jackpot on record.

On June 4, a lottery player in Illinois purchased a $522 million winning ticket.

Mega Millions drawings are held on Tuesday and Friday just before 11 p.m.

The odds of winning the jackpot are 302.6 million to one.
