Powerball Expected To Be Half A Billion On Saturday: Lottery Officials

If anyone wins, the projected one-time cash payout amount is expected to be more than $242.7 million before taxes.

PROVIDENCE, RI — The Powerball jackpot for Saturday is expected to be more than half a billion dollars, according to lottery officials.

Officials said the jackpot would be around $515 million, with a one-time cash payout of $242.7 million before taxes. The last time someone won Powerball was on Jan. 18, when a player in Oregon hit the jackpot for $329 million.

Powerball is drawn on Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday at 10:59 p.m. Tickets are $2. The odds of winning the jackpot are one in 292.2 million.
