Providence Felon Pleads Guilty To Possessing Firearm
The Providence man was previously convicted on firearm, robbery and drug trafficking charges, the U.S. Attorney's Office said.
PROVIDENCE, RI — A Providence man previously convicted and sentenced on state firearm, robbery and drug trafficking charges, and a 2013 federal firearm charge, pleaded guilty to a federal charge of felon in possession of a firearm, the U.S. Attorney's Office said.
Troy Antley, 56, was arrested during a March 2024 traffic stop in Providence, according to a media release from the U.S. Attorney's Office.

A Providence patrol officer pulled Antley over for turning without signaling, the release said.
"During the subsequent stop, the officer noticed a knife in plain view on the driver’s seat," according to the release.

"As the officer went to seize the knife, he noticed a round of ammunition in the driver’s side cupholder in the center console and a gun handle protruding from the space between the driver’s seat and center console," the release said. "It was later determined that the firearm, a loaded 9 mm Smith and Wesson semi-automatic pistol, was previously reported stolen out of Alabama. The magazine in the firearm had a 16 round capacity and 14 rounds in it. One round was chambered in the pistol."
Antley's sentencing was scheduled for Nov. 20.
