Providence Phony Paper Passer Pinched: Police
The Providence woman was arrested during a traffic stop in Cranston, police said.
PROVIDENCE — A Providence woman was arrested during a traffic stop on a charge of passing counterfeit certificates, bill or notes, police said.
Marianela Tavaras-Tavarez, 30, also was charged with larceny under $1,500 and obtaining money under false pretenses, the Rhode Island State Police said in a media release.
"This arrest was the result of a barracks investigation, and a subsequent motor vehicle stop on Route 10 South, in the City of Cranston," the release said.

Tavaras-Tavarez was pulled over shortly after 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, according to the release.
"Tavaras-Tavarez was processed at the Lincoln Woods Barracks, arraigned, and released pending a future date at the Sixth Division District Court," the release said.
