Felix Santos, 28, pleaded guilty on May 30 to possession with intent to distribute 40 grams or more of fentanyl.
PROVIDENCE, RI — A Providence man who admitted in federal court that he possessed more than a pound of fentanyl, just one year after being released from prison for trafficking the drug, was sentenced to six years in prison, U.S. Attorney Zachary Cunha said Tuesday.
Felix Santos, 28, pleaded guilty on May 30 to possession with intent to distribute 40 grams or more of fentanyl. Following his prison sentence, Santos must serve four years of federal probation. He must also forfeit $3,619 in cash and assorted jewelry he obtained through drug trafficking.
Santos was released from prison in 2020. Just a year later, Santos began trafficking drugs in Providence again between May and June 2021, prosecutors said. During that time, three controlled purchases of fentanyl were conducted outside Santos'home as part of a DEA investigation, prosecutors said.
