RI Rescue Squad Stolen From Hospital, Found Traveling Down I-95
Connecticut state police caught the rescue and the alleged thief after West Warwick police spotted it on the highway and radioed an alert.

PROVIDENCE, RI—A Boston, Mass., man is recovering in a Connecticut hospital Monday after he grabbed a rescue parked (but left running) at the Rhode Island Hospital emergency room. According to Connecticut State Police, Johnny I. Kimbrough, 36, was arrested near North Stonington on Interstate-95 (prior to exit 2). Rhode Island State Police had been following the rescue down the highway and contacted Connecticut when the rescue traveled over the state line. Kimbrough was not injured, state police said, but he requested medical attention and was sent to Backus Hospital. He is being charged with first-degree Larceny (of a motor vehicle) over $20,000, Connecticut State Police said.
Police say the ambulance was left running and unattended after a patient was taken into the ER. @PvdPublicSafety commissioner now says there will be a clear policy NOT to do this https://t.co/G8SyFgUmfI
