Anytime Fitness Success Story: Mark Lavendier

Meet the June success story from the local fitness club.

the 24-hour co-ed fitness club, is helping people find success, including their June Member of the Month, Mark Lavendier:

Mark Lavendier joined Anytime fitness on Jan 1 of this year with a very ambitious goal, to lose 70 lbs by the second week of July.

After 1 week of working out he had a newer, seemingly more important goal, not to scream like a little girl every time he sat down. We are glad to report that Mark has achieved his second goal, and is 40 lbs closer to achieving his first goal.In addition to cardio 5 times weekly and weight strengthening 3 times weekly, he has been following a limited carb diet, and after a couple false starts, is now 1 month tobacco free.

Q) Mark, with all the options in this area, why did you join Anytime fitness?
A) The mirrors. Like most Americans, I'm extremely narcistic, lol..... Actually I love the individual attention. The staff all know my name, and my goals, and are very helpful in keeping me focused on what I am achieving. Working out with James, my personal trainer, on a weekly basis keeps me accountable on both my diet and workout routine, and also teaches me the proper use of the multitude of equipment available at the club.

Q)What are some of your motivators?
A) My son, I want to be around when he graduates college.
Q) how has your life changed/been affected by what you have achieved thus far?
A) Really, a much shorter list would be how it has not changed! From saving almost 5000.00 a year on tobacco, not smelling like an ashtray, much clearer skin, better wind when playing soccer with my son, I could really go on, and on.

Q) Any advice to someone thinking about living a healthier lifestyle?
A) Sure, first off, it can not be a passive change, all day long we're put in challenging situations, the grocery store, gas stations, restaurants, where one needs to make healthy choices. For those who say they have no time, try unplugging your tv for a month. Chances are pretty good no one in Hollywood or on a pro sports team gives a hoot about them, so why not spend the time on the people in your life who do matter, like your family and yourself.

Q) Has anyone ever told you you look like Johnny Depp?
A) I get that all the time, and yes, I am currently single.
