A&W On Putnam Pike helped two charities Monday - donating some of the day's proceeds to North Central Chamber's Scholarship Fund and hosting a stand for Surfer's Healing.
Hungry patrons who stopped by A&W Restaurant at 460 Putnam Pike had 10 percent of their bills go toward the North Central Chamber Scholarship fund, which the chamber announced on social media.
More visible and prominent was the stand set up by Surfer's Healing, which introduces autistic children to the thrill and soothing experience of partnered surfing.
Surfer's healing fund-raises all year to put together the $12,000 they need for their annual free day camp for autistic kids at Narragansett Town Beach, coming this year on Sept. 14. You can donate to them directly at www.surfershealing.org.
