Smithfield police have arrested a pair of shoplifters identified on video stealing about $150 in perfume and assorted merchandise at CVS at 445 Putnam Pike June 10.
On June 21, Patrolman Michael McCoy was dispatched to the Apple Valley Mall store to investigate a report of shoplifting that had occurred June 10 at 6:40 p.m., according to his report.
The store manager Kayla Lucia, 24, told McCoy that she'd reviewed video surveillance of the incident, which showed a man wearing a tank top and bandanna walk near a black, locked display case containing perfumes. As the man lifted the top of the case, a woman dressed in all black removed three bottles of perfume. The woman is also later shown on video placing three Hanes T-shirts ($11.29) and a hair brush ($10) in her purse, then walking out of the store without paying for any of the merchandise, according to McCoy's report.
The store manager was able to identify the missing perfume as one bottle of Gucci Guilty perfume ($71.99) and two bottles of Dolche & Gabbana Light Blue perfume ($61.99).
