Smithfield Police Log: Car Theft, Thefts from Cars, Paypal Fraud

Thursday, May 9:

- At about 7:45 a.m., Smithfield Police responded for a report of a car theft on Calista Street. A silver 2012 Acura was taken from a driveway after the owner left the keys inside.
- At about 3:45 p.m., Smithfield Police responded to a report of theft of a set of golf clubs from an unlocked vehicle's trunk on Calista St.
- Smithfield Police responded to Domin Avenue for a report that someone had accessed a man's paypal account and used it to purchase cameras online.
- At about 11:45 p.m., Smithfield Police responded to Fairmont Street for a report of a GPS stolen from an unlocked car.
Friday, May 10:
- At about 3:45 p.m., Smithfield Police were called for a report of a domestic assault at a bus stop on Douglas Pike. Police arrested Derrick Pfeiler, 31, of 108 Underwood Ave., Warren, charging him with domestic simple assault, domestic disorderly conduct. Pfeiler was also issued a no contact order for his wife.
- At about 3:45 p.m. Smithfield Police investigated a report of extortion, blackmail and cyber-stalking.

- At about 7:45 a.m., Smithfield Police arrested Tomas A. Manzo, 32, charging him with driving under the influence of alcohol, and refusing to submit to a breath test.
- At about 3:45 p.m., Smithfield Police responded to the area of Old County Road for a report of a truck striking a tree. The driver was cited for operating on a suspended license.
Sunday, May 12:
- At about 7:45 a.m., Smithfield Police responded for a report of four juveniles intoxicated and in the road on Farnum Pike near St. Michael's.
