State Trooper Log: Burglar Caught, Embezzler Chased Down In Providence

Troopers arrest wanted burglar after traffic stop

On Friday May 31, at 11:20 p.m., troopers arrested Devin Armstrong, 21, of 8 Tucker Road, Smithfield, RI for: 1) Obstruction and 2) Affidavit and Arrest Warrant for Breaking and Entering Conspiracy out of the North Providence Police.

The arrest was the result of a motor vehicle stop and subsequent foot pursuit on Spruce Street in Providence, with troopers locating Armstrong on Atwells Avenue with assistance from Providence Police. He was transported to the Lincoln Woods Barracks and held overnight pending a morning Special Arraignment.

Troopers nab wanted embezzler after chase through Providence

At 12:26 a.m. June 2, troopers arrested Emmanuel Barbosa, age 22, of 85 Englewood Ave., Apt. #2, Pawtucket, RI on an Affidavit and Arrest Warrant on the original charge of Embezzlement and Fraudulent Conversion originating out of the Smithfield Police Department.

The arrest was the result of a motor vehicle stop on Route 95 in the Town of East Greenwich. Barbosa was transported to the Hope Valley Barracks where he was processed, then turned over to the Smithfield Police Department.
