31-Year-Old Tiverton Man Arrested for Marijuana, Heroin Possession

Tiverton Police arrested a local man on multiple drug charges on Tuesday.

 

Tiverton Police arrested a 31-year-old Tiverton man on charges of drug possession and driving under the influence.

Jason Toste, 31, of 253 Holly Circle, Tiverton, was arrested on Oct. 2 at 5:21 p.m. after police received a call that there was an erratic driver in the area of Bulgarmarsh Road. Officers caught up with Toste on Holly Circle. Toste was reportedly leaning over in his car and appeared disoriented. Police noted that he had a knife with its blade extended in his hand.

During search of Toste's vehicle, police found needles, two bags of heroin and Toste allegedly admitted to having marijuana in his pocket. At the station, Toste refused a chemical test.

He was charged with possession of heroin, a felony, marijuana, driving while intoxicated, driving in possession of a controlled substance and refusal to submit to chemical test. He was arraigned in Second Division District Court on Oct. 3.
