5 Things: Mold, Exploring and Hurricane Irene

Weather: There is a chance of showers and thunderstorms throughout the morning. Rains will clear out overnight, according to the National Weather Service.
1. The Wilbur & McMahon Schools are slated for mold testing by Rhode Island Analytical to ensure that the building is safe for student and faculty occupancy on Sept. 4.

The Little Compton school failed initial testing last Wednesday and school officials are working with the state Department of Health and Department of Education to mitigate the high instance of mold in the air.
2. Join the Junior Explorers! The Nature Conservancy in Rhode Island invites children ages 6 through 8 to investigate nature through games, crafts, and exploration. Be ready to find live animals and use real scientific tools! Meet at the Environmental Center. Adult accompaniment is required.Â

3. Come join Serena and the fun at ABC Studio at Four Corners Fitness today at 6 p.m. Zumba classes cost $15 per person and really help melt off the pounds.
