Five things to get your Sunday started in Tiverton and Little Compton.

Weather: It will be mostly sunny with a high near 75 degrees. It will be foggy and temperatures will drop into the 60s during the evening, according to the National Weather Service

1. The Little Compton Band performs at a picnic concert at the Tiverton Meeting House lawn on Sunday.

2.  The historic Chace-Cory House at Tiverton Four Corners will be open for the season on Sunday June 3,2012 from 2-4:30 pm and every Sunday afternoon through early fall, or by appointment.

     Owned by the Tiverton Historical Society, this early eighteenth -century home with its early outbuildings, houses artifacts and furnishings as well as historic documents of Tiverton's rich past displayed in period rooms.

3. Gardening questions will be answered by URI Master Gardeners this and every Sunday at noon at Paradise Park (Paradise and Prospect Avenues) in Middletown. In addition,bring along a 1-cup soil sample, allowed to dry out overnight, and receive a soil test. This is an invaluable resource from the URI Master Gardeners for all gardeners and an important part of their Outreach Pogram.

4. Weekly bingo benefits the Association of Blind Citizens. Doors open at 3 p.m. at 207 Canonicus St, Tiverton.

5. On this day in 1939, the first televised Major League baseball game is broadcast on station W2XBS, the station that was to become WNBC-TV. Announcer Red Barber called the game between the Cincinnati Reds and the Brooklyn Dodgers at Ebbets Field in Brooklyn, New York.
