Thursday: TCC Candidate Forum, VPs Face Off and Flu Clinics
Five things to keep in mind on Thursday, Oct. 11 in Tiverton and Little Compton.

Weather: Thursday will be sunny with a high near 59 degrees. Skies should remain clear into the night, according to the National Weather Service.
1. The Tiverton Citizens for Change will host a candidate forum tonight at 6 p.m. at the VFW on 134 Shove Street.

Residents will have a chance to hear a brief presentation and ask questions of the TCC-endorsed candidates for local offices.

3. The Little Compton Wellness Center and Flu Clinic Oct. 11 from 11 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. and Oct. 18 from 4 p.m. - 6:30 p.m.

4. The Greater Tiverton Community Chorus is an un-auditionedchoral group that welcomes singers from communities throughout southeastern Massachusetts and Rhode Island.
Rehearsals for the winter season take place on Thursdays at the Amicable Church, 3804 Main Road, Tiverton, from 7 p.m. - 9:30 p.m., and will continue weekly through the year’s Christmas Concert performances on Dec. 7-9, 2012 entitled, “Celtic Christmas.”

5. On this day in 1975, Saturday Night Live (SNL), a topical comedy sketch show featuring Chevy Chase, John Belushi, Dan Aykroyd, Gilda Radner, Garrett Morris, Jane Curtin and Laraine Newman, makes its debut on NBC; it will go on to become the longest-running, highest-rated show on late-night television. The 90-minute program, which from its inception has been broadcast live from Studio 8H in the GE Building at Rockefeller Center, includes a different guest host and musical act each week. The opening sketch of each show ends with one actor saying, “Live from New York, it’s Saturday Night!”
