Tiverton Bar Brawl Leads to Two Arrests
Two Holy Ghost Club patrons caught last call at Tiverton Police headquarters after a fight broke out around 11:30 p.m. on Friday night.
No one was injured, but a bar-room brawl ended in arrest for two patrons on Friday night, according to Tiverton Police.
Raymond Pires, 51, of 13 Seigal St., Bristol and Patricia Duquette, 50 of 199 King Phillip St., Fall River, were arrested after the pair allegedly started a fight with a 39-year-old Fall River woman.
Witnesses at the Holy Ghost Club on Bottom Street in Tiverton told police that Duquette started walked up to the woman, who was seated at the bar, and punched her in the face. As the women engaged in an altercation, Pires, who is Duquette's boyfriend, grabbed a golf club from their car and began swinging it around, hitting an air conditioner on the side of the building. Witnesses said Pires returned to his car, this time coming back with a baseball bat.

Although he did not strike anyone with the bat, Pires allegedly went toward the 39-year-old Fall River victim Duquette was fighting with, making swinging motions and yelling "I will get you and I want to take your eyes out."
No one was injured when police arrived and both Pires and Duquette were charged with one count of disorderly conduct.Â

Pires was also charged with one felony count of assault with a dangerous weapon and resisting arrest. Police allege Pires refused to cooperate as officers attempted to take him into custody and had to force him to the ground in order to secure his handcuffs.
Duquette was charged with misdemeanor simple assault for her alleged attack on another bar patron.
Duquette and Pires were taken to police headquarters where they were held overnight and released the next day by a justice of the peace.
