Tiverton Excavator Bursts Into Flames

Fire broke out in a piece of construction equipment, making it difficult for firefighters to access the flames.

TIVERTON, RI — A fire broke out in a Tiverton excavator Monday afternoon, the fire department said.

The excavator was parked on Eagleville Road at the time of the fire, the department said. Because the flames were inside the cabin, it was difficult for crews to access and extinguish the flames.

No injuries were reported. At this time, it's unclear what caused the fire.
