According to Tiverton Police, the residents at  97 Preservation Way reported a suspicious man in the neighborhood after realizing their wallets were missing from their cars. The victims noticed a smell of fresh cigarette smoke as well, and since neither smoke cigarettes, thought the thief could still be outside.

He saw a male in a white sweatshirt, who was later identified as Biancheri, standing on the road near the top of his property and approached him. During the conversation, the victim said the Biancheri reached toward his waist almost as if he had a gun so he called to his neighbor for help. Biancheri took off running, but was later apprehended by police.

After Biancheri took off, the victim saw his wallet in the middle of the road, but found it was missing $271. After speaking with Biancheri, who allegedly admitted to being involved in the theft, police were able to locate the money hidden inside a barrel near the road.

Biancheri was arraigned later that day by a bail commissioner and released.
