Child's Kind Heart Stuns RI Family After Holiday Display Damaged

"Thanks for being an awesome human," the Rhode Island family posted in a Facebook message. "Your parents are doing a great job with you."

The child's kind actions left Danny Hall and his wife, Bethany in disbelief—and nearly speechless. According to Danny, Kat even left a gift for his 4-year-old daughter, Cora.

WARWICK, RI — A Warwick family remains in awe of one little girl's recent kind gesture. After a storm destroyed their popular Halloween display a few days ago, a child named Kat wanted to help out in the only way she knew how.

She showed up at the Hall family's home unannounced Monday evening, left a note by the door along with a pile of coins wrapped in paper that she saved up.

"Hi guys. I am sorry your stuff fell over before Halloween. Here is my savings to help you. I am a big fan of your house. I went to it 1,000 times," Kat wrote on a piece of orange construction paper.

"I heard a vehicle pull up, so I assumed it was a Amazon truck. When I took a look out the window I saw the little girl back in the car with her Mom," Danny told Patch.

For the last several years, Danny and his family have hosted a popular walk-through Halloween display called "The Hall Asylum." All proceeds benefit The Gianna Cirella Memorial Fund.

Kat is clearly a fan of all of it. After a nor’easter hit the area a few days ago and destroyed much of the Halloween display, she and the community are doing their part to make sure the Halls' Halloween display is back for 2022.

Danny told Patch that he and his family hope to meet Kat, but until they do, they wrote a message on their Facebook page they hope she sees:

Dear Kat,
We don’t know who you are and we got to the door just as you were getting back into the car but we want to thank you from the bottom of our hearts. We are absolutely touched that you like us so much that you gave us your savings to help rebuild. Cora loved her sweet little gift from you too
We are so lucky to have such a special friend here at the Hall Asylum who loves Halloween as much as we do. We really hope this message finds you so we are asking all of our friends to share share share this post.
We would be honored if you came by next season and helped us light up the display one night on opening week.
Thanks for being an awesome human, Kat. Your parents are doing a great job with you.
Love,
Your friends at The Hall Asylum

In addition to Kat's donation, the community has also created a GoFundMe page to help the Halls bring back the Halloween attraction next year. As of Monday, donors have contributed nearly $1,900.
