- Potholes are costing residents a lot of money. We learned Tuesday that one resident broke their car's strut on South Main. But fixing them all isn’t easy, since “a lot of the holes are on state roads outside the Woonsocket Public Works Department’s jurisdiction.” If you see a pothole, report it to the City online. Also, take advantage of the reimbursement program that “covers up to $300 worth of vehicle damage caused by potholes.” (Woonsocket Call)
- Governor Dan McKee handed out funds to schools today. “In just three years, we've fully invested $250 million in schools across the state,” the Education Commissioner explained. An integral part of that are $20 million, which are the first Facility Equity Initiative awards. Woonsocket received $1.6 million. (Governor’s Office)
- The governor is expected to “formally announce his run for re-election next week.” So far, he has not made any plans publicly, although insiders did expect him to seek a full term. The target date for the announcement is Tuesday, but other details are sparse. (WPRI)
- Farm Fresh RI is looking for vendors! If you want to sell at summer farmers’ markets in and around Woonsocket, PVD, Armory Park, Broad St, Neutaconkanut Park, CF, and W. Warwick, you need to apply now. The application period ends March 11. (@FarmFreshRI)
- There will be a pop-up vax clinic Thursday at the Harris Public Library. The vaccines available are Moderna, Pfizer (12+), Pfizer (5-11), and Flu. The clinic operates from 5:30 PM to 7:30 P.M. (@GovDanMcKee)
