5 Hospitalized after Woonsocket Crash
A good Samaritan pulled over to help someone with a flat tire when a third car crashed into the second on Route 99 on Sunday.

WOONSOCKET, RI—Speed or alcohol does not appear to be a factor in a three-vehicle crash on Route 99 on Sunday that sent five people to area hospitals with serious but non life-threatening injuries, police said.
Police are still investigating the crash, which happened at around 3 p.m. on the southbound side of Route 99.
Police said a car was pulled over with a flat tire when a good Samaritan pulled over to help. A third car struck the second car, police said.

Six ambulances responded to the scene to transport the injured. Three people were transported to Landmark Medical Center. Two were taken to the Rhode Island Hospital Trauma Center. Two others sought medical treatment on their own and one other person at the scene refused treatment.
The highway was shut down for a period of time as crews reconstructed the crash.
