CCF Begins Recruiting For Culinary Arts Program

Twelve-week course to prepare individuals for food service jobs.

 

Connecting for Children and Families (CCF) is currently recruiting this Spring for adults interested in pursuing employment in the food services industry.

The training program consists of: twelve weeks of classroom instruction, Monday-Friday, with anticipated start dates in May; exploration of entry level positions in the food services job sector; opportunities to gain valuable “hands on” experience in internships with our employer partners; and job readiness, Serv-Safe certification,  placement assistance, and career counseling.

In March, Connecting for Children and Families to train 60 people in their Culinary Arts Program.

All participants must be at least 18 years old (valid identification); pass a criminal background check (BCI); meet minimal reading and math grade levels; and have legal documents indicating ability to work in the US (birth certificate or passport).

According to CCF Executive Director Terese Curtin, “providing this skills training program prepares adults with the technical skills, as well as the job readiness skills that have been identified by employers as basic skills they look for in a potential employee. This training is the first step in assisting adults with the skills, confidence, and financial stability during these challenging economic times.”
