However, in the interim, we still want to make sure you are up-to-date on all of your local happenings, so I am here to fill in! Although not a local, I will work diligently to keep everyone in the community informed. And, if you are interested in becoming the new local Woonsocket or Pawtucket curator, apply here.

Here are the top stories in Woonsocket today:
- The City Council met yesterday. On the agenda were the matter of Rick’s Bar & Grill, 297 Cass Avenue, the Ronald Landry police stop, and the acquisition of real property for public purposes. Other line items were the fire department fleet, low-moderate income housing, and a zoning ordinance amendment regarding self-storage units. (City of Woonsocket)
- Mount Saint Charles Academy teams will participate in the 20th annual Maine Cross Country Festival of Champions. The meet brings together an estimated 1,500 runners on Saturday. However, the impact of the pandemic is still being felt. “There are just four out-of-state schools compared to the usual 10-12 and the Maine schools seem to have smaller rosters.” (Courier-Gazette)
- The George Nasuti Novans Pride 5K is back for its 7th annual event. It will take place on October 10 at The Gym on 2168 Diamond Hill Road. You have until October 8 to register. “Every dollar of profit from the George Nasuit Novans Pride 5k Run will be donated to the Woonsocket Athletic Department.” (Run Signup)
