- There were no votes taken at the Tuesday executive session of the City Council. Those present also discussed proposed ARPA funded projects. In addition to the fire hydrants, ideas mentioned were blight removal, targeted area sidewalk repair, water meter replacement, and premium pay for Local 670 employees. Other discussions focused on low-moderate income housing such as investing more in homeownership. (City of Woonsocket)
- Today, the City Council will have a special meeting. They will discuss “granting permission to use City property.” At issue are street closures for the Sunday Lighting of the Eternal Flame, which might draw 1,000 attendees. The other discussion point is “committing funds in support of a Veteran’s Memorial plaque.” The sum at issue is $5,000. (City)
- The School Committee meeting agenda included discussions on several new business items. Some were amendments to criminal background check policies and its bullying policy. There were also talks about a video surveillance policy. (OnWorldWide)
- The Monday afternoon’s Division II game between North Providence HS and the local girls didn’t go well for Woonsocket. “Woonsocket is struggling, and they don’t have the numbers,” the coach of the opposing team noted. The team has been struggling throughout its season. (The Valley Breeze)
