Driver Airlifted after Woonsocket Crash
One person was seriously hurt after a crash on Cumberland Street early Wednesday morning.

WOONSOCKET, RI—One person was airlifted to the hospital after a serious crash on Cumberland Street early Wednesday morning.
Authorities said the driver of a pickup truck was partially ejected and pinned between his vehicle and another car.
The crash happened near the intersection of Cass Avenue and traffic was backed up for some time as crews worked to extricate the driver and prepare for the airlift transport.

Images from the scene showed the pickup truck was heavily damaged. According to reports, the truck hit a utility pole, hopped a curb and ended up on its side.
The driver was airlifted to UMass Medical Memorial Center. Police have not released details about his condition at this time.
