  1. Officials closed Cumberland Hill Road on Wednesday. There was a gas leak Tuesday that required the evacuation of several businesses. However, the PD explained that “National Grid was unable to shut down the gas until Wednesday.” A warming shelter set up at Holy Trinity School assisted the customers whose electricity and/or gas was shut off. At this time, officials anticipate reopening the road on Friday. (WJAR)
  2. The Cracovia Soccer Club announced its 40th anniversary season on Wednesday. If you have a youngster between the ages of 3 and 18, you can walk in and register them on February 26 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Signups take place at the St. Stanislaus Parish Hall. If you prefer to register online, you have until March 9. (Woonsocket Parks & Recreation)
  3. Snow-covered sidewalks have been causing difficulties. Pawtucket declared a school district snow day. In Warwick, the PD reminded residents to clear their sidewalks. The city has a 72-hour rule. However, residents in compliance noted that after shoveling their sidewalks, snow plows piled the white stuff right back on there. (Valley Breeze, Turn to 10)
  4. Have you taken a COVID-19 test at home? If so, you have the option of self-reporting a positive or negative result. Taking this step helps the state keep an accurate count of infections. However, remember that the at-home test won’t get you any documentation for missing work or school. To get these documents, you need to go to an official test site or a doctor. (COVID Test Results)
  5. Showcase Pro Wrestling announced a busy weekend for February 11 and 12. On Friday, it will be at the Taunton VFW with a bell time of 7:47 p.m. On Saturday, the crews will be back at 126 Main Street at 7:09 p.m. (Showcase Pro Wrestling)
