The quickest way to get caught up on the most important things happening today in Woonsocket.

Welcome back, Woonsocket, and happy National Croissant Day! Let's get you all caught up to start this day off on an informed note. For example, if you’re traveling this week, fuel up at Consumers at 139 Hamlet Avenue, where gas costs $3.29 a gallon.
A couple got married outside the Providence Public Library in the snow. Also, you can still join the Woonsocket Collaborative board. Finally, FD workers collaborated on putting out a garage fire.

- There was a wedding Saturday outside the Providence Public Library. Instead of flowers or confetti, guests threw snow. Dealing with the bridal veil was a little challenging, but throwing a few snowballs after the event made it worthwhile. (@CoreyWelch)
- Paulette Hamilton, the former North Smithfield town administrator, is now the new executive director of the Downtown Woonsocket Collaborative. We learned Thursday that the organization also appointed “Adam Brunetti as chairman, Margaux Morisseau as vice-chairwoman, Garrett Mancieri as interim treasurer, and Geraldine Barclay-King as secretary.” If you’d like to join the board, please note that it's seeking new members right now. - On Friday evening, around 8 p.m., there was a garage fire on Rocky Hill Road. When responding FD workers realized they needed help, they reached out to “North Providence, North Smithfield, Johnston and Lincoln.” The investigation is ongoing. (ABC)
- National Grid struggled a little with outages on Saturday. Earlier, there were 7,300 customers without power in Massachusetts, and 67 in Rhode Island. However, the utility has almost 4,000 workers fixing outages. (ABC)
- Rhode Island’s Saturday travel ban was extended to midnight. Governor Dan McKee warned that “the latest projections showed about 20 inches of snow accumulation, on average, across the state during the storm.” Even so, RIPTA and the Block Island Ferry plan to resume service Sunday morning. (Patch)
