- General Dynamics Electric Boat is hiring. The company is hosting a job fair today, 4-13, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the DLT Career Center. (RI Department of Labor)
- Shoutout to Woonsocket HS and its actors! The school had “an incredible weekend of proudly showcasing our student talent.” “The Addams Family was a huge hit!” Well done! (WED Woonsocket High School)
- Did a Mendon Road Dunkin' Donuts employee embezzle $5,790.58 over a four-month period? The PD seemed to think so since they arrested the 18-year-old worker who was hired last December. The arrest took place Sunday morning. (The Call)
- NeighborWorks Blackstone River Valley received up to $250,000 of “$4.8 million in Take It Outside grants.” Governor Dan McKee made the announcement on Monday at The Guild, Pawtucket. The money is to be used “to purchase equipment such as folding chairs, pop-up tents, portable speakers, signage, a mobile stage, etc. to distribute to small businesses and to run a series of diverse, free, live music to include extensive food offerings, a vendor fair, cultural activities, youth activities, and other opportunities to engage small businesses.” (WJAR)
- Has your HS senior already applied for the Autumnfest Scholarship? The cutoff for submissions is May 1 at 2 p.m. The funds are for “a graduating senior who displays the love and passion for the community by the volunteer work they are involved in within the community.” Tell the Steering Committee about it “in 500 words or fewer, how you embody similar qualities and include specific details on how you have volunteered to make a difference in your community and in the lives of those around you.” (Autumnfest)
