- The Wrentham Police Department arrested a 23-year-old Woonsocket man for “possession of child pornography.” The man, who works as a delivery driver for Amazon, had prior run-ins with the law. A prior arrest was for “photographing an unsuspecting nude person.” He got on the police department’s radar when they received calls about a “man dressed as a woman acting suspiciously in the women’s public bathroom.” Yes, he had a pen camera attached to his shoes. Yes, he was in a stall adjacent to girls. (WJAR)
- A U.S. District Court judge determined that the owner of Woonsocket’s Stop & Go Deli participated in “benefits trafficking.” As a result, the venue’s disqualification from the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program was proper. This decision came on the heels of an investigation by a division of the U.S. Department of Agriculture. (RI Lawyers Weekly)
