- Although the School Committee didn’t discuss the recent fights in local schools, Superintendent Patrick McGee did make a change to how bullying incidents are shared. “Incidents will now be reported twice a year, with varying new measures to prevent bullying being implemented at each school.” (@Emmalyn_Reid)
- There was an apartment fire on Friday in Lincoln. Firefighters headed to Spring Street before 11 a.m., accessed a locked apartment, and “were able to contain the flames before they spread to the adjoining apartments.” The tenants were displaced and assisted by the American Red Cross, but officials believe that “with restoration efforts, the unit where the fire took place will be livable again.” (WPRI)
- Holy Trinity Parish is bringing back Food Truck Night! Beginning May 25, “come out to the intersection of North Smithfield and Woonsocket near the Blackstone MA. border . . .eat from some of the best food trucks Rhode Island has to offer. Maybe even eat at multiple trucks. Food trucks accept cash, credit, or debit. Select from a dozen or more food trucks.” (Holy Trinity Parish)
- Earlier this month, the Good Shepherd Catholic Regional School’s Girls Junior Basketball Team finished its season as “runner-up in the Diocese of Providence CAL Basketball League.” St. Margaret’s would not allow them to win. The game was played at the Mount Saint Charles Gymnasium. (GWCRS)
- On Thursday, the woman who is suspected to have abandoned a three-month-old Chihuahua puppy on the side of Draper Avenue pleaded innocent of the charge. In the meantime, the pup has become invaluable to the North Attleborough Police Department. We learned Saturday that the dog is assisting with the PD’s book drive, proving that he’s great with kids and seniors. And yes, he’s available for adoption! (WJAR)
