Mount's Rodrigues To Spend Summer Researching Cancer Cure
Cumberland native the Sole Rhode Islander Admitted to Dana Farber Harvard CURE summer program.

Kristen Rodrigues of MSC’s Class of 2014, was the only student in Rhode Island to be accepted into the 2013 Dana Faber Harvard Cancer CURE (Continuing Umbrella of Research Experiences) Summer Program.
Kristen will be commuting to this 8-week program, which lasts from June 24-Aug. 16, from her home in Cumberland. During her 35-40 hour work week, she will be receiving hands-on experience in a cancer research.
The mission of the CURE program is to put high school and college students in real cancer research environments and introduce them to the field. The ultimate goal is to encourage students to pursue future careers in the biosciences (especially in cancer research) and to give practical meaning to their academic course work.
