- American Legion Fairmount Post 85 plans an October 17 dedication of “a new monument that pays tribute to Woonsocket’s industrial history while honoring World War II veterans around the state.” The event will draw elected officials and commemorate the anniversary of World War II ending. This labor of love has been in the works for three years. (The Valley Breeze)
- Visit the Library for Tie Dye Thursday! Scheduled for October 14, 21, and 28, this program is excellent for kids in third grade and up with an adult present. The fun runs from 3:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. (OnWorldWide)
- Troop 2 Woonsocket Boy Scouts is at the Autumnfest. And, its selling pizza and hot pretzels. Stop by and buy a few! (Troop 2 Woonsocket)
- BankNewport recently supported the Woonsocket Family Shelter. Its employees collected “more than 4,700 socks and toiletries.” These will benefit several organizations, including the Woonsocket Family Shelter.
