  1. The City Council nixed the idea of hiring out the Woonsocket Department of Public Works to a private Oak Grove developer. The paving crew was to go out and complete road work in the development. Council President Daniel Gendron noted that, “If your crew has the time to pave a road, I’d like them to pave one of our roads.” On the other hand, Public Works Director Steven D’Agostino explained that they would only supply the paver and a crew, for which the city would charge $12,500 a day. 2. Jennifer Jolicoeur is warming up for her role as Autumnfest Grand Marshal. The Steering Committee noted that, “Jennifer is a perfect example of one of our community heroes.” She is the founder of Athena's Home Novelties and has given back in countless ways to the community and non-profits nationally.
