- Did you know that there’s an onion recall due to salmonella? ProSource Produce recalls whole raw red, yellow, and white onions that were shipped in from Chihuahua, Mexico. They came into the country between July 1 and August 31. Possible brands they were sold under are “Big Bull, Peak Fresh Produce, Sierra Madre, Markon First Crop., Markon Essentials, Rio Blue, ProSource, Rio Valley, and Sysco Imperial.” If you have any of these onions, throw them away or take them back to the store for a refund. - You know Monique Landry-Johnson as the owner of Hair We Are at 311 Cass Avenue. Now, you can add published author to her credentials. Her children’s book, The Mystical Fairy Princess,” is a product of the recent pandemic. She is working on a sequel already. (The Valley Breeze)
- The RI Foundation, which is the state’s largest philanthropic organization, demonstrates its commitment to minority leadership development. The Foundation requested that three diversity candidates become part of the Equity Leadership initiative to “build a pipeline of Asian, Black, Hispanic or Latino, indigenous or multi-racial candidates.” Nwando Egbuche Ofokansi of Woonsocket is part of the selected group.
