  1. Will nip bottles go the way of the dodo bird? Democratic state Rep. David Bennett wants to get rid of the litter generated by nip bottles, we learned Tuesday. By banning nips, the problem resolves itself. Proponents agree that it’s time to get rid of them because some lakes and ponds are “loaded with these things, and they don't go away.” Critics say that nips generate a sizable amount of their business and that customers like them “because they're cheap and people try to save money, and they don't want to drink big bottles to control themselves.” (WJAR)
  2. In December, we reported on the 35-year-old Woonsocket man, who was “charged with one count of breaking and entering and two counts of indecent exposure and disorderly conduct.” At the time, the judge ordered an evaluation for mental health and substance abuse. The same man was arrested again Wednesday in Lincoln. He was “arraigned on three counts of disorderly conduct.” He was walking around naked. (Patch, WJAR)
  3. The Read-Ott House at 97 Walcott Street is owned by the Assumption Greek Orthodox Church. It sat vacant for 30 years and has fallen into disrepair. Neighbor complaints lead to citations, which require the owners to work on an exterior restoration by May 6. As of Wednesday, the Zoning Department has not heard from the owners. (The Valley Breeze)
  4. Attorney General Peter F. Neronha announced that a former Woonsocket resident was sentenced to 17 years in state prison last Thursday. The 32-year-old man “entered a plea of nolo contendere to one count of first-degree child molestation.” The child was under 14. (Woonsocket Radio)
  5. Cousin's Collision Center at 45 Foundry Street is today’s business of the day. In business since 1985, the shop specializes in collision repair, classic car restoration, and custom painting. An extensive picture gallery shows off the shop’s abilities. (@WoonsocketRadio, Cousin's Collision Center)
