Aldi is recalling its Simply Nature Organic Poppy Seed Dressing. “The recalled product comes in a 12 fl. oz. glass bottle with the Best if Used By date of February 15, 2023, and UPC #4099100023169. The lot code is printed on the bottle above the label.” The dressing was delivered to Aldi between August 20 and September 10. If you have some in your pantry, return it to the store for a full refund. (Valley Breeze)
  2. Woonsocket's residents are paying 8% more in groceries than the national average. Utilities costs are 36% higher. If you don’t like this news, it won’t get any better. The cost of groceries is “expected to increase between 1.5 and 2.5 percent” in 2022. (PayScale, USDA)
  3. The North Providence mayor bought a used ladder truck for the fire department. He then sold the city’s other ladder truck to the communities of “Cumberland, Lincoln, Smithfield and Woonsocket to share.” It is unclear where the truck will be stored. (The Valley Breeze)
  4. The Brimfield Antiques Show is over. Woonsocket's collectibles dealers Diane and Glen Turner were in attendance for the 38th year. Their collectibles run the gamut from Barbie to Christmas. (Antiques and the Arts Weekly)
