- On Thursday, the Autumnfest Steering Committee announced it was opening the application process for “local organizations and companies to submit a bid to operate the Autumfest’s beer tent as well as the newly created wine tent.” This opportunity is for non-profit and for-profit organizations. You have until April 30 to submit your application. (The Valley Breeze)
- St. Michael's Ukrainian Church will be running fundraisers to benefit Ukraine. Expect to see them closer to the end of the month “through their annual Lenten Kitchen, where they make and sell Ukrainian dishes.” “They will also sell t-shirts, window clings, and Ukrainian egg crafts called Pysanky.” (WJAR)
- Chan’s Fine Oriental Dining got a nice Friday write-up in The Providence Journal. What really sets this one apart is the number of photos that succeed in capturing what makes Chan’s, well, Chan’s! (Providence Journal)
- When State Rep. Brianna Henries sponsored her ban on “single-family residential zoning in communities like Johnston, with populations over 20,000,” Woonsocket came out in opposition. The politician proceeded to roast Woonsocket’s representatives on Twitter. However, on Thursday, we learned that the “Johnston Town Council may be poised to follow Warwick and Woonsocket city councils in condemning” the legislation. (Johnston Sunrise)
- You may have a chance to appear in “The Guilded Age,” which is being filmed in Newport. Casting agents are looking for “background performers” and “a highly-skilled tennis player.” “Everyone must be ok working around smoke and attend a costume fitting prior to filming," according to the post. "Women will be fit in corsets. Natural-looking hair colors only.” (WJAR)
