Here are the top stories today in Woonsocket:

1. Have you heard the scuttlebutt that they found the body of Brian Laundrie? Well, they didn’t. Whom they did find was a deceased man from Cumberland who somehow ended up in North Carolina. The death has been ruled a homicide. (Patch)
2. Love ‘em or hate ‘em, but the Woonsocket surveillance cameras are working. They made it possible to arrest four people and recover three pieces of stolen property. “Those include two individuals charged with possession of a stolen vehicle, one accused of stealing a trailer, and a fourth wanted on an arrest warrant.” One of the arrested drivers was only 14. 3. The Rhode Island Infrastructure Bank (RIIB) presented an oversized check to Woonsocket officials. Made out in the sum of $599,359, the amount is the result of savings. The City successfully refinanced its bonds with RIIB and was able to recover these funds. (The Valley Breeze)
4. The Woonsocket Harris Public Library is excited to have received $50,000. This grant enables the library to “digitize its microfilm collection of the Woonsocket Call newspaper from 1900-1960.” The grant came from the RI Office of Library & Information Services.
