  1. Tarik Robinson-O’Hagan keeps setting records. “At Wednesday night’s New England Weight Throw Championships, Robinson-O’Hagan shattered his previous personal best four times in six throws, and on his fifth throw, he broke former Barrington standout Adam Kelly’s state and New England record with a mammoth toss of 85 feet, 2.5 inches to claim the title at the PCTA.” (Woonsocket Call)
  2. The Department of Environmental Management warned poultry owners Friday that a wave of contagious bird flu might be coming. “The virus could lead to widespread death among infected birds for both commercial poultry farmers and backyard chicken keepers.” In January, the virus was detected in South Carolina and has spread to 12 states. It is now in Connecticut and Massachusetts, which puts Rhode Island at risk. (Patch)
  3. On Monday, Mayor Lisa Baldelli-Hunt requested “solutions for companies looking to expand within Woonsocket or relocate there.” At issue is the lack of suitable land parcels, which range “anywhere from half an acre to 23 acres.” The Mayor said that “there is funding available for creative solutions to these problems.” (The Valley Breeze)
  4. Woonsocket Senator Melissa Murray co-sponsored “a resolution condemning the Russian invasion of Ukraine.” She said Friday that “the courage of the Ukrainian people has inspired the United States and the entire world.” “We stand with you and hope for peace. Slava Ukrani,” she finished. (iHeart)
  5. On Saturday, shots were fired on Hurley Avenue in Pawtucket. An empty vehicle was hit by shots. The PD brought in three suspects, but it released them later. (ABC)
