  1. The National Sports Media Association (NSMA) named Brendan McGair, a writer for the Pawtucket Times/Woonsocket Call, “co-Rhode Island Sports Writer of the Year.” The other writer receiving this honor is Mark Daniels from the Providence Journal. Congratulations! (Woonsocket Call)
  2. Students hoping to be able to stay home from school on Monday will have their hopes dashed. Mount Saint Charles has posted photos of maintenance crews hard at work digging out and getting the snow out of the way. “The campus will be ready for school on Monday!” (@MtStCharles)
  3. The Woonsocket PD reminded residents on Sunday that the parking ban has been lifted. When you’re finished digging out, it’s okay again to park as you normally do. (Putting out your trash cans should also be fine.) (@WoonsocketPD)
  4. We learned Thursday that the Chicoine House at 712 Nate Whipple Highway won’t reopen soon. The Community Care Alliance, which manages the Chicoine House, announced that it will “keep its residents at an alternate location on Putnam Pike in Smithfield for the foreseeable future.” Initially, the move took place to combine resources with the Singleton House in Burrillville. 5. The Blackstone Public Library is exploring the use of pop-ups. It provides “free access to digital e-books and e-audiobooks.” Look for a “Pop Up Library at A Plus Tire and Auto Care in Blackstone through Feb. 28.” You can volunteer your business to host a pop-up, too. (Valley Breeze)
