  1. A shoutout to Constance Bonin! At the April 13 meeting of the St. Agatha Senior Group, she won the special Easter raffle, monthly raffle, and special Bingo. (The Valley Breeze)
  2. A little while ago, we talked about the dog park at the Rivers Edge Recreation Complex. On Thursday, there was an official ribbon-cutting and Mayor Lisa Baldelli-Hunt with her dog, Vita, were there for the festivities. There are two fenced-in areas to allow small dogs to run amongst themselves, while the larger canines stick with dogs of their own sizes. (ABC)
  3. Also on Thursday, a 28-year-old Woonsocket woman was “sentenced for acting as a drug runner.” She is supposed “to serve one year and one day in federal prison.” She “admitted to delivering crack cocaine and fentanyl” at the behest of two men, one from Woonsocket and one from Cranston. The men have not yet been sentenced. (WJAR)
  4. We learned on Thursday that 80 tipped workers filed a suit that “accuses Twin River of not accounting for tip credits when calculating employee payments.” According to the allegations, Bally's Twin River Casino “undercounted their hours worked and failed to pay correct overtime wages.” “The employees, which include servers, bartenders and dealers, are seeking three years worth of wages they claim went unpaid, two times the amount of wages lost plus interest and legal fees.” Twin River declined to comment. 5. Niche has posted its results for the “best public high schools in the United States, including the top 36 best in Rhode Island” on Thursday. Woonsocket is not on the list. However, the top three schools in the state are Barrington HS, East Greenwich HS, and Classical HS in Providence. (Patch)
