Morning, neighbors; today is World Wildlife Day! Sylvia here with today's copy of the Woonsocket Daily.

Mount St. Charles has a great goalie! Also, the Woonsocket Call retired a premier journalist. Finally, why was there a half-naked guy running around in backyards?

  1. Shoutout to Mount St. Charles senior goalie Grace Davenport! Tuesday night’s Division II game could have ended up in a tie had it not been for her skill. “Grace played incredible. She keeps us in every game, especially this one. She really kept us in it,” said forward Leah Laquerre. Well done! (Woonsocket Call)
  2. Russ Olivo from the Woonsocket Call has retired after four decades, and Governor Dan McKee made it official with a Certificate of Special Recognition. It states, in part, that Olivo “served the State of RI with the highest level of professionalism, leadership, and integrity.” While Olivo shared the certificate with us on Wednesday, he remained mum about what his future plans might be. 3. Some Woonsocket neighbors had a rather odd visitor. We learned Wednesday that a man walked around the Bernon Park area and on Williams Street half-naked, going in and out of backyards. “We don’t know this individual’s gender pronouns, but he walked around for several hours in the middle of the night in the freezing cold, while wearing one shoe, a bra, a blanket, and listening to pornography on a phone.” (TB Daily News)
  4. The first-ever Craft Beer Week is coming to the State! The nine-day celebration kicks off Saturday. “Throughout the week, participating breweries will host special events and contests to mark the celebration of all things local.” Already on board are Narragansett Beer, the Linesider Brewing Company, and Ragged Island Brewing Company. (Rhode Island Monthly)
  5. Governor Dan McKee announced that there would be a pop-up vaccination and booster clinic Thursday at the Harris Public Library. If you cannot make it to this venue, there are others nearby. (@GovDanMcKee)
