  1. There is another organization wanting to give $500 scholarships to Woonsocket High School seniors. This one is the Sprout And Stem scholarship for high school seniors pursuing future study in science, tech, engineering, or math.” (@mrserinhealey)
  2. A Woonsocket resident and their dog have been wondering why the dog park at Rivers Edge and the bike trail, as of Friday, is “always locked.” There has been new signage added, but nothing about hours. Community scuttlebutt suggests that “groundwater issues” are keeping it closed; however, it “would be opening shortly.” (FB)
  3. The Woonsocket Wolverines were among the teams that met Wednesday evening at Bryant University. There, athletes participated in “Unified Sports, a program through Special Olympics that partners volunteers with individuals who have physical and developmental disabilities.” The volunteers “include members of Bryant University’s women’s volleyball team, as well as officers and staff from the North Smithfield Police Department.” (WJAR)
  4. Would you drive 20 minutes to half an hour for cheese? In the case of the Narragansett Creamery in Providence, it is well worth your while. We learned Monday that the business “was awarded a First Place Gold Medal for its Low-Fat Coffee Yogurt at the World Championship Cheese Contest on March 3–5 in Wisconsin.” Furthermore, it “was also awarded a 3rd Place Bronze Medal for its Burrata Cheese.” (Eat Drink RI)
  5. Riverzedge Arts announced Thursday that it is celebrating its 20th anniversary. “We couldn’t be more proud of what our youth, staff, and community supporters have been able to accomplish over the last two decades, and we want YOU to come help us celebrate!” There will be a summer block party in July!
