Thursday: Clean Sweep, Wine and Jewels, Books, Sugar Shack

We're almost done with the week - check out these things to know:

 

Scouts' 'Clean Sweep' - Scouts from Troop 2, Woonsocket, are making a clean sweep. They'll come to your home and sweep sidewalks and/or do a light outside spring clean up for you. Donations are appreciated. Proceeds will be used for scouts to go on monthly camping trips.

Troop 2 Scouts are available Saturday, April 6, Sunday, April 7 and Tuesday, April 16. Call Pat at 765-2737 for an appointment, leave a message and someone will get back to you.

Two Frank -  Woonsocket's third annual Autism Benefit is called “Two Be Frank – A night of Comedy” and features hypnotist Frank Santos, Jr. and comedian Frank O’Donnell. The show is on Friday, April 5 at the Woonsocket High School and starts at 7 p.m. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are $20 each and can be purchased at the door. All benefits fund scholarships for Woonsocket Residents to attend summer camp and after-school programs at the Autism Project

Wine, Jewelry at Stadium - Stadium Theatre's Wine Women & Jewelry event on April 4 is still open, with tickets at $30. The first 50 tickets sold will receive two free pieces of jewelry in addition to the three pieces that already come with the price of admission. Admisssion also includes two glasses of wine AND light fare. Call (401) 762-4545. Tickets are not available at the door, fyi.

Elks Sugar Shack April 13 The Sugar Shack celebration will be held at the Woonsocket Elks Lodge at 830 Social Street from 5 to 10 p.m. Saturday, April 13. The AFGS Cabane à Sucre (sugar shack) will take on the time-honored traditions that are typically French Canadian. The event will include music by Fleurs de Lis, a local group that performs traditional French Canadian music. Doors open at 5 p.m. with buffet dinner at 6:00 p.m. The menu includes fresh cut salad, pea soup, French Canadian meat pie, New England style baked beans, maple glazed ham, Shepherd’s pie, bread, butter, coffee, tea and dessert. Pothier Spring Book Sale - The Spring Buy 1 Get 1 Free Book Sale begins the Wednesday, April 3. The sale will be open from 2:45-5 p.m. on Wednesday, April, for Parents to shop, and again during our Rockin' Around The Books Party on April 8. 

We are still looking for parent volunteers to pick up shifrts for the book fair. If you can volunteer for an hour or more, please do so. Contact Jessica at the school office, 401-767-4765. Volunteers are needed for all shifts:

THURSDAY, APRIL 4th: 9-11:30 a.m., 11 a.m.-2:30 p.m. 

FRIDAY, APRIL 5th: 9:00-11:30, 11:00-2:30

MONDAY, APRIL 8th: 9:00-11:30, 11:00-2:30, 2:00-5:00, 6:00-8:00

TUESDAY, APRIL 9th, 9:00-11:30, 11:00-2:00
