- A 38-year-old Bernon Street resident was arrested on Saturday. Her crime? She admitted to “firing warning shots out of her kitchen window when she noticed six people vandalizing her daughter’s car.” Also parts of the narrative are a traffic dispute, a romantic entanglement, and two groups of disgruntled individuals. (Woonsocket Call)
- A General Assembly bill “would grant the right-of-first-refusal to qualified nonprofits for the purchase of certain multifamily properties.” The Woonsocket City Council opposes this legislation, saying it “would stifle economic development and deny the free market of potential real estate buyers.” “I think people better wake up in this city, and this experiment going on at the General Assembly with these nut bags,” said Councilor James Cournoyer. (The Valley Breeze)
- Abandoned Chihuahua Puppy Update: It’s official! We learned Monday that a “North Attleborough police officer and court prosecutor” will adopt the puppy that has been named Axel. “The 17-week-old dog will be the department's new community mascot.” “We’re all very happy and excited that he will have a forever home with 50-plus people here,” the officer in charge of the pup said. The doggie will be on hand every Thursday at the Richards Memorial Library for kids’ story time at 10 a.m. (WJAR)
- We learned Monday that “only a few flights into and out of Rhode Island were delayed.” After a weekend of cancellations and delays nationwide, “just a handful of flights into and out of Rhode Island T.F. Green International Airport were delayed or canceled.” JetBlue pointed the finger at “severe weather in the southeast and multiple air traffic control delay programs.” (Patch)

Where should you invest as a Woonsocket resident with a $149,000 nest egg? Thanks to a change in the legal code, there’s a new investment Woonsocket residents need to know about. In fact, Bloomberg asked experts where they’d invest $100,000 right now, and many of them chose it.
This may surprise you, but it’s fine art.
Growing your nest egg with art isn’t new. Wealthy families like the Rockefellers have done it for centuries.
Here’s why:
- Low correlation to stocks according to Citi
- Contemporary art historically returns 23.2% when inflation is >3%
- Contemporary art prices outpaced the S&P 500 by 164% (1995-2021)
Translation: Art could be one of the best investments for uncertain times.
Luckily for you, we found Masterworks. This revolutionary platform lets you invest in art by Warhol, Monet, Picasso without spending millions.
The best part? Anyone from your area can skip their waitlist*.
