Woonsocket Library Lists December Events

Holiday hours listed, blood drive scheduled for Monday, 3-6 p.m.

 

Library Hours 

The library will be closed on Monday, Dec. 24 for Christmas Eve, and Tuesday, Dec. 25 for Christmas Day.  The library will be closing at 5 p.m. on December 31st.  The library will also be closed on Tuesday, January 1st for New Year’s Day.  The library’s regular hours are Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday, 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., and Tuesday, Friday, and Saturday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Rhode Island Blood Center Blood Drive
Monday, Dec. 3, 3-6 p.m.
Each donation can save up to three lives!  Free pizza for donors.

Too Human Holiday Concert
Saturday, December 15, 2 p.m.
Enjoy an afternoon of holiday classics with a bluesy/jazzy feel.  Too Human, also known as Ellen Schwartz and Roger Bruno, cover jazz standards from the American Songbook, but with a fresh interpretation that brings new life to those classic songs. Ellen and Roger will bring their interpretation to your favorite Christmas tunes.  This performance is free and open to the public.  Sponsored by the Friends of the Woonsocket Harris Public Library.

Adult Knitting Circle
Thursdays, 7-8:30 p.m.
Knitters and crocheters of all levels of experience are invited to attend this crafting circle. Led by experienced knitter and crocheter, Jen Grover.  Donations of yarn are appreciated !!!

Northern Rhode Island Camera Club Meeting
Thursday, December 6, 7 p.m.
This purpose of this group is for people interested in photography to get involved locally. We hope to plan workshops, field trips, meetings, and competitions.

Parlons Francais

Live & Learn: A Social Program for Persons with Early Memory Loss
Wednesdays, 9:30-11:30 p.m.
The Live & Learn program is designed specifically for person who have been diagnosed with early memory loss. It focuses on maintaining the quality of one's life as they learn new ways to compensate for changes in memory through memory enhancement activities, physical exercise, social interaction, camaraderie and just plain fun. Simultaneously, the program provides time for the family members/care partners to pursue their own interests while their loved ones are engaged in enjoyable and meaningful activities with the guidance of a trained facilitator.  For more information, please contact The Alzheimer's Association RI Chapter at 421-0008  or email  Marge.Angilly@alz.org

Written Word Writing Group
Thursdays, 7:15 p.m.
