Acevedo was found guilty by a Providence County Superior Court jury in February of two counts of first degree child molestation and three counts of second degree child molestation.

During the trial, the State proved beyond a reasonable doubt that Acevedo molested a young girl, whom he was familiar with, on two occasions in 2003, when she was approximately 12 years of age.  The victim reported the molestation in 2009, according to a release from the AG's office.
