Woonsocket Middle School Raises $1,500 For Breast Cancer Awareness
Students, teachers have raised money for the cause during several fundraisers this month.

For National Breast Cancer Awareness Month this October, Woonsocket Middle School raised more than $1,500 toward the cause, to be donated to the Breast Cancer Society.
"We have been involved in collections, walkathons, dress down days for students," said WMS Principal Robert Picard.

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, each year, more than 200,000 American women are diagnosed with breast cancer and more than 40,000 American women will die from breast cancer.
