Woonsocket Police Clear Third Bomb Threat At High School

WPD received call at 9 a.m., students moved back into building at 10:45 a.m.

 

Woonsocket Police and the RI State Police bomb squad responded to Woonsocket High School for a bomb threat this morning, the third in the last two weeks, finding no explosives.

Police were called to the school after a note about a bomb was found there, said Woonsocket Police Public Information Officer Det. Jamie Paone.

Students were evacuated from the Cass Avenue building while the police searched the building for explosives. They determined there was no bomb, and began moving people back into the building at about 10:45 a.m., Paone said.

"It's been cleared," she said.

 Last week Woonsocket High School received two bomb threats - one on April 23 and again on April 26.
