Girard spoke with Jarod Hamel, 19, of 120 Lucille St., Woonsocket, who said he had parked the Kia in the center of the street to attempt to get dirt out of his shoes. He said the three had been drinking at a party earlier that night. Inside the car, Girard reported he could see seveal GPS units and digital cameras. When Giard asked about the items, Hamel said he didn't know how they got there, but suggested they were put there during the party because they were stolen.
When asked about the smashed windows, Hamel said his friend, the 17-year-old member of the trio, had used the bat to smash the windows when he stopped the car. Hamel was arrested and charged with vandalism and conspiracy.

After he was treated, Andrews told officers that Hamel and the juvenile had been discussing how they'd been traveling through the city that night vandalizing properties. Andrews was charged with disorderly conduct.
